Hysterectomy

Hysterectomy is an operation where the uterus (womb) is removed. During the operation other organs, such as the ovaries or fallopian tubes might also be removed depending on your personal circumstance.

 

There are several ways of performing a hysterectomy, including open (abdominal),vaginal (via the vagina) and laparoscopic (key hole). What is recommended for you will be dependent on the reason you need a hysterectomy.
